Wrangling With Writing Conference, January 18-19, 2002

Each year, The Society of Southwest Fiction Writers sponsors a conference in Tucson, Arizona, that brings together editors from some of the largest houses and agents from around the country. The WWW conference is attended by more than four hundred writers, and this year Ms. Gislason presented a talk titled "The Publishing Industry: The View of an Insider."

Icelandic National League of North American Conference, April 19, 2002

The Icelandic National League of North America will be hosting its first-ever US conference in Minneapolis, MN. The conference will feature speakers on a diverse range of subjects, including science, medicine, theology and mythology, and arts and literature. Barbara Gislason will be participating in a panel on the historic Icelandic literary tradition, with special emphasis on the great Sagas and Eddas.

Writing For A New World Conference, September 5-8, 2002

Ms. Gislason will be presenting a talk at the upcoming Southwest Writers Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
